Hello and Welcome to my blog! I am so excited because this is my very first blog post EVER! Creating this blog is something that has been a long time coming for me. After years of putting it in the back burner, I am thrilled to say that I have finally launched it, and I am ready to begin this “blogging” chapter in my life. Essentially, I wanted to create this blog to share things that inspire and empower me in hopes that people will also be inspired by it. All while incorporating a little bit of mindfulness into the mix.
Without further ado, I will now begin to delve into this first blog post. While I was in Miami, a friend and I decided to go explore. We wanted to see all that Miami has to offer and document it by taking photos along the way. The shots below were taken at the Miami Design District. The Design District is fairly new for Miami, some areas are still under construction. Nevertheless, it’s well known for its high-end boutiques and great dining experience. One of my favorite area was outside the Dior store where I shot the photos below. If you can’t yet tell, I am all about white, if I can just live in a world where everything was white and there was no other color, I would! Therefore, when I saw this white wall with the “Dior” sign on top I knew I had to take photos!
In these shots, I wore this adorable billabong top, which is extremely versatile. The top ties in the front and you can wear it with anything underneath. This top also has a matching short set which I did not include. Nevertheless, it’s a perfect summer time staple, because of how versatile and airy it is. You can pair this top with your swim suit underneath and wear it to the beach or you can wear it as a top with jeans/shorts/skirt etc. as I did.
As for the jeans, these are my go to mom jeans, I cannot say enough great things about these jeans! They’re from the petite top shop section in a size 24 (yes, I am very petite). Top shop also carries these jeans in regular for all you taller babes! Top Shop has done an amazing job at creating jeans that are catered to petite girls like myself, if you are petite, you know it is a struggle to find good fitting jeans. As for the accessories, I am wearing a vintage Gucci watch that was gifted to me by a family member. As for my bag, it’s from a brand called “CultGaia” and I am obsessed with it. The moment I saw it on other bloggers I knew I had to have it. This bag has been a summer staple for me ever since it arrived. I will link all the pieces below.
Mindful mantra: Self care is not selfish
“Mantra for self-compassion: Self care is not selfish. When we don’t fill our own vessel, we give from a place of empty. When we give from a place of empty, we don’t give of our best self. True acts of self care involve nurturing the heart and soul with activities that bring you sustained joy.” – By Dr. Romie
